Close-In Countermeasure

BAE Systems developed the Close-In Countermeasure (CICM) prototype to detect, track and neutralize incoming threats with no detonation. CICM is a low-cost, active protection system that provides a near-term solution for Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) type threats. CICM will defeat close, multiple shots with a very low fratricide and collateral damage effects. It combines superb effectiveness with affordability.

CICM can be tailored in whole or in part to a wide range of air, sea and ground platform applications. It will readily integrate into next-generation active protection systems.

CICM has a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7. It has been through extensive developmental testing in a ground environment, and would be available for testing in a maritime environment.
