AN/APX-123 Common Transponder (CXP) with Mode 5
BAE Systems has been a world leader in IFF systems since the 1940s and continues that leadership with its Mode 5 capabilities and products. BAE Systems was the first IFF supplier to deliver Mode 5 capable interrogators and transponders to the DoD with the U.S. Navy being the lead service. BAE Systems has been providing IFF systems to the U.S. Navy for more than 30 years.
The CXP family of products provides the features required in today's global military and civil air traffic control environments. BAE Systems has delivered over 2,750 CXPs to date with units installed in over three dozen platforms.
The AN/APX-123(V) is the latest addition to the CXP family of products and is the U.S. Navy's standard Mode 5 transponder. It contains an NSA certified Mode 4 and Mode 5 cryptographic computer and meets all DoD and NATO Mode 5 requirements. The AN/APX-123(V) features include an open system architecture and high density FPGA technology which provides design flexibility and allows it to meet future requirements through software only upgrades without the risk and cost associated with hardware changes.
BAE Systems is currently under contract to deliver low rate initial production (LRIP) units. Deliveries started in 2007. |
