BAE Systems - Naval League 2008

Introduction

As the prime contractor or a key team member, BAE Systems is providing the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Marine Corps and their allies highly innovative technologies and solutions that ensure dominance at sea.

As the premier naval gun developer and one of the top suppliers to the U.S. Department of Defense, BAE Systems builds gun systems ranging from 25-mm to155-mm, along with new, innovative weapons for ship self-protection and homeland defense. Additionally, BAE Systems supports our sailors and Marines with advanced munitions, electronic communications, identification systems and sensor technologies for naval warfare.

BAE Systems also plays a chief role in the development, production and installation of surface naval missile launching systems - systems that were critical in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

BAE Systems supported the U.S. Navy's mission in the Persian Gulf with advanced technology that gave the U.S. fleet superior firepower, precision and protection. The first missiles fired on Baghdad were from launchers, which BAE Systems and its partners built, on board the U.S. Navy cruiser USS Cape St. George.

Today our shipyards continue to prepare ships for important deployments throughout the world. Committed to equipping the U.S. Navy and its allies with superior technology, BAE Systems is developing some of the world's most important naval technology and transforming the future of naval warfare.
