Raven RQ-11B
From the safety of the Bradley crew compartment, an unmanned systems operator can control the Raven B to provide situational awareness, plan missions and laser illuminate ground targets.
The Raven B system, an enhanced version of the battle-proven RQ-11A, is a lightweight solution designed for rapid deployment and high mobility for both military and commercial applications requiring low-altitude reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition.
The most advanced Small Unmanned Aircraft System (SUAS) deployed with the U.S. Armed Forces, the Raven can be operated manually or programmed for autonomous operation, utilizing the system's advanced avionics and precise GPS navigation.
With a wingspan of 4.5 feet and a weight of 4.2 pounds, the hand-launched Raven provides aerial observation, day or night, at line-of-sight ranges of 10 kilometers or more. The Raven delivers real-time color or infrared imagery to ground control and remote viewing stations, as well as laser illumination of ground targets.
Raven Operators employ Falcon View software and the SUAV Toolbar application to preplan missions and monitor the Raven over a moving map.
Additionally, the system includes a fully functional flight simulator to permit operator currency and proficiency.
Advanced Battery Charger:
- The Advanced Battery Charger (ABC) by AeroVironment, Inc. is a reliable and easy to use system. Battery packs for radios, small electronics, computers and SUAVs are only a few of the variety of applications the ABC can accommodate. It also works with a variety of chemistries. The ABC is a smart charger for any battery pack below 30 volts utilizing cell balancing to extend battery life and revive dead batteries. The ABC is highly reliable with protection against ESD and input voltage spikes.
- Because it can accept multiple AC/DC power inputs and is so versatile, it provides a one-system solution, eliminating the need for multiple chargers. Weighing approximately 11 pounds and under one cubic foot in volume, the ABC provides a dramatic reduction in weight and space as well as significant cost savings over the other portable options currently fielded.
