BAE Systems - AUSA 2008 - FCS Joint Tactical Radio System Ground Mobile Radios and Handheld Manpack Small Form Fit Radio

JTRS GMR and HMS

JTRS GMR
Ground Mobile Radios (GMR)  meets the needs of commanders in all important areas

  • Situational Awareness
  • Flexibility
  • Multiple levels of security

GMR significantly increases the capacity to deliver needed information to the warfighter.  It would take 7 EPLRS or 125 SINCGARS to deliver the same capability of just one WNW channel on a GMR.

For comparable costs at the "System Level" (with ancillary equipment) the GMR provides more channels, more flexibility, more throughput, and less size than available alternative systems.

GMR has shown seamless interoperability with legacy systems.

GMR has proven streamlined integration with emerging systems:

  • Ad-Hoc integration with a UAV
  • Ad-Hoc integration with handheld systems

GMR is supporting the needs of the FCS Program

GMR continues to perform to the JPEO approved plans.

JTRS HMS
Provides connectivity to the Soldier and the Crucial Last Mile, via the JTRS Communications across Lower Echelons and below. HMS is the dismounted communications system layer within the common FCS network architecture and supporting the required interoperability.
