Bradley A3v1
The Bradley A3v1 program is an incremental upgrade to the Bradley to regain lost performance.
The Soldier is benefited by the improved power train and advancements incorporated through lessons learned from Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
The program is currently at a pre-milestone B decision. The program will be executed in two phases. Phase one will deliver a Bradley v1 with first unit equipped in FY13 to regain lost performance (propulsion, suspension, power generation and management, vetronics and survivability) and incorporates lessons learned from OIF. The second phase will deliver a Bradley v2 that provides additional capabilities (30-mm gun, nine-man squad, mast mounted sensor, external fire suppression) with first unit equipped in FY17.
Both v1 and v2 platforms will fully integrate OIF lessons learned and maintain overmatch with future threats.
The Bradley A3v1 program is currently in the Technology and Concept Development phase. Full System Development and Demonstration will begin in CY09. |
