Bradley Armored Medical Evacuation Vehicle (AMEV)
The Bradley AMEV was developed to be the replacement to the M113 ambulances. It provides uninterrupted availability of lifesaving combat medical support for casualties that are in high intensity, urban warfare situations or environments. This capability increases survivability of casualties and saves lives during evacuation.
AMEV includes a large interior work space for installation of essential medical equipment required for essential en-route treatment of four litter patients, eight ambulatory patients
or a combination of the two. BAE Systems has sponsored the AMEV for display at the Medical AUSA conferences, with the latest medical support equipment and systems. This includes the litter lift system and lighting currently installed on the deployed Heavy Armored Ground Ambulance (HAGA) vehicles, oxygen regeneration, patient monitoring systems and situational awareness.
Internal research and development engineering and cost analysis efforts are to refine the vehicle systems and design. The objective is to provide a low-cost medical vehicle that can be rapidly produced and fielded. |
