Common Missile Warning System

BAE Systems is working very closely with the Army to provide the Common Missile Warning Systems (CMWS) as quickly as possible. BAE Systems has provided 505 CMWS to protect the war fighter – and did so ahead of schedule.

In August 2006, PM-IRCM team, along with BAE Systems, completed 100 percent fielding of the Common Missile Warning System on Army (Active, Reserve and National Guard) rotary and selected fixed-wing aircraft operating in the Central Command, CENTCOM, theater of operations.

Because of the proliferation of Man Portable Air Defense Systems (MANPADS) throughout the world, there is an immediate need for state-of-the-art, reliable aircraft survivability equipment. By all accounts, CMWS is a success story beyond just the production and fielding; CMWS has saved lives and equipment.

By making aircraft survivability equipment (ASE) a top priority and committing the resources necessary to acquire and build these systems, CMWS has and continues to make a difference to the Soldiers on the battlefield.
