Close Combat Situational Awareness System
The Close Combat Situational Awareness System (C2SAS) provides the armored vehicle war fighter with real-time visual imagery, using both uncoooled Long Wave Infrared (LWIR) and visible/low-light sensors, of the immediate vehicle surroundings.
Designed to address the near-in threat, C2SAS supports detection of man and vehicle targets, in a full 360-degree azimuth around the vehicle, from a range of 0 meters to 500 meters from the vehicle.
Modes of operation include IR, visible and fused visible/IR imagery. A modular design architecture supports installation on all armored vehicles, and provides a foundation for future upgrades and system enhancements.
With additional sensor slices, C2SAS advanced functions include: Laser Warning, Hostile Fire Indication (HFI) and Threat Shooter Location. Dismount survivability is improved by providing hostile locations prior to opening rear gate, allowing maximum use of vehicle orientation for providing cover.
