Advanced Threat Infrared Countermeasures

The AN/ALQ-212(V) directable infrared countermeasures (IRCM) suite provides comprehensive protection against a multi-tier array of infrared-guided missiles. The system provides protection in all IR threat bands and has been proven in live-fire tests.

The AN/ALQ-212(V) (ATIRCM/CMWS) suite provides passive warning of missile approach using the AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning System (CMWS), which detects the missile, rejects false alarms, and either dispenses flares or cues the onboard infrared jamming system’s jam head to the missile’s location.

The system is designed for flightline-replaceable LRUs that can be replaced within 3-5 minutes without the need for special tools or test equipment.

The AN/ALQ-212(V) has common application across a wide range of platforms. The system’s modularity and high-output laser power allow multiple ATIRCM jam heads to be configured to protect a wide variety of helicopters and large aircraft.

The CMWS portion of the ATIRCM/CMWS was designed to provide missile warning to both helicopters and high speed tactical aircraft.
